Blenheim Estate’s oaks are being used to build authentic Saxon house! 🛖

We have had the pleasure of supporting the wonderful COGGES HERITAGE TRUST for near on two years now.

The latest project is somewhat special and one we’re all learning from as it develops … why you might ask? 🤔

It’s not every day one gets to help with the development of an authentic archetypal Saxon House, the purpose of which is to provide additional learning opportunities for the local community and visitor groups.

Being an activity-led project the final design of the Saxon House has directly been influenced by the research of the Cogges volunteers.

The amazing team at Blenheim Palace have kindly donated some of surplus trees from their ancient oak woodland, which adds to the richness of the project.

The team is in good hands with support and direction provided by McCurdy & Co Ltd and plans are currently being finalised to commence the timber conversion activities on site, which a significant element of will be delivered by the skilled Cogges volunteer team.
